June 3rd, 2010
Please join us this weekend for our June USPSA pistol match. There will be 6 stages designed by Larry Turner for your enjoyment plus the classifier CM 06-03 Can You Count.
We really need your help with setup on Saturday, June 5th at around 9:30 a.m. if you can spare a couple of hours. The more people that help, the earlier we can all be finished. We will buy your lunch and give you a coupon worth $10 toward the match the next day. You will also be entered in our yearly drawing that includes a GLOCK Pistol Certificate and a membership to South River Gun Club! We will be finalizing set up on Sunday morning, June 6th at 8:30 a.m. before shooting begins. We would appreciate each squad helping to tear down the stage they finish on and for help with any of the stages that have no squad finish on them. Thanks very much to those of you that continue to help us each month. We know who you are and we appreciate your help!
If you can help with setup, please email Larry Turner at ‘turnerover@comcast.net’. We need to confirm enough help for setting up the match before Saturday, June 5th.
Good Shooting!

Welcome to the 2010 USPSA Area 6 Championship. Over the next three days, you will test yourself against some of the best practical shooters in the United States and beyond. We know you have worked hard in preparation for the match and that the competition will be intense. We have assembled stages from clubs in Area 6 that we hope you will find to be both demanding and enjoyable.
By participating in this sport, you are making a contribution to its advancement. Anyone who has participated in practical shooting for even a few years is well aware of the tremendous number of aftermarket products that are available to make our guns faster, more accurate, and easier to handle. Many of the vendors and craftsmen of our sport have made a decision to sponsor this match and others like it. Please remember, when you purchase products and services from our sponsors, you are not only expressing your appreciation for their support, you are also helping them to support our future matches. I hope you will visit our vendor area and personally thank each of them while you are here.
This match would not be possible without the generous contributions of the staff and volunteers like the Police Explorers. The staff of RO’s, CRO’s, Stats Officers, and support people all donate hundreds of hours of their time and effort to be part of your Championship match. Please make an effort to thank the staff at every opportunity.
We wish you the best of luck and hope that you enjoy the match.

No South River USPSA Match This Weekend
March 30th, 2010
Due to Easter this Sunday, we have decided not to try to compete with it, so there will be no USPSA match on Sunday, April 4th at South River Gun Club.
Additionally, because the Georgia State Trap match is on our weekend in May, there will not be a USPSA at South River Gun Club on Sunday, May 2nd.
On the other hand, the 2010 Area 6 Championship is being held at South River April 16th - 18th. There are still a VERY FEW Friday All-day slots available, with no guarantees of being able to honor your squadding requests. More information available at http://uspsa6.org.

Happy Saint Patty’s Day!
March 17th, 2010
Happy St. Patty’s Day!!!!
Remember the River Bend match this Sunday. First shot at 10AM, new shooters to USPSA need to arrive by 9:30 for the safety briefing. If you have time Saturday about 1PM please meet us at the range for setup. Jimmy and Jason will have 5 great stages for us and I will pick a classifier rarely seen in these parts.
Also, the April Match will be cancelled; we do not want to conflict with what is sure to be an awesome Area 6 Match the same weekend. For those who have not signed up for Area 6 yet there are lots of Friday All-day slots available. It is not too late to sign up!
Thanks!!!

Mark Ramsey, Deputy Section Coordinator
March 17th, 2010
At a Georgia Section Board of Directors’ Meeting held at South River Gun Club on Mar 14th, the Board* unanimously confirmed Mr. Mark Ramsey to be the Deputy Section Coordinator of the Georgia Section.
Simply stated by the ByLaws, the Deputy Section Coordinator serves in the absence of the Section Coordinator. That is, basically if I’m not there at a match or other event and something comes up that requires the Section Coordinator’s attention, the Deputy SC can act in my stead as the Section Coordinator. An example situation would be if USPSA hosts another Leadership Conference of SC’s this year and I couldn’t attend but Mark could, then he would go instead.
Please join me in congratulating Mark in his new position. You may contact him at deputysc@georgiaipsc.com.

Section Coordinator
Georgia Section, GA-05
* Present were the Section Coordinator, SAPSC, SRGC, NAAS, Riverbend, and Cherokee (proxy held by the SC)

South River March 2010 Multigun Match Results
March 17th, 2010
Congratulations to all the participants in the March 2010 South River Gun Club Multigun match. You probably were unaware, but this was the first real Multigun match to be scored with the next major version of EzWinScore (4.0 when its made available). This version includes complete support for the Multigun type of match, where different power factors from different guns (major .45 pistol and minor .223 rifle, for example) on the same stage are taken into consideration in scoring of the match. The test ran very well, and puts an end to the manual, error-prone San Angelo “method” previously used to score Multigun matches in version 3.x. EzWinScore 4.0 will make life a WHOLE LOT EASIER for stats officers and range officers on the line, and I think we can expect to see more USPSA Multigun matches begin to pop up as the year progresses.
Anyway, enough yammering. Here are the results.
