Because the State Trap Shoot is at South River this weekend and many of the shotgunners camp down on the action shooting bays, there will be no USPSA match at South River on May 4th.

Welcome to the 2008 USPSA Area 6 Championship. Over the next three days, you will test yourself against some of the best practical shooters in the United States and beyond. We know you have worked hard in preparation for the match and that the competition will be intense. We have assembled stages from clubs in Area 6 that we hope you will find to be both demanding and enjoyable.
By participating in this sport, you are making a contribution to its advancement. Anyone who has participated in practical shooting for even a few years is well aware of the tremendous number of aftermarket products that are available to make our guns faster, more accurate, and easier to handle. Many of the vendors and craftsmen of our sport have made a decision to sponsor this match and others like it. Please remember, when you purchase products and services from our sponsors, you are not only expressing your appreciation for their support, you are also helping them to support our future matches. I hope you will visit our vendor area and personally thank each of them while you are here.
This match would not be possible without the generous contributions of the staff and volunteers like the Police Explorers. Our good friend Debi Davis, who many of you know as John Golson’s lovely and cheerful wife, passed away suddenly last Tuesday afternoon. As John was on a business trip her departure was not discovered until late Wednesday /early Thursday.
John is with friends and family, and is doing as well as can be expected. To all who have already extended their offers of love and support, he wants you to know he is eternally grateful.
We got sufficient help for Saturday Setup today, so the match tomorrow, Dec 2nd, is definitely on! Thanks! Bn
There will not be a South River USPSA match on November 4th. Only two people cared enough to come out today to set it up, and one of those was the stage designer, Larry Turner.
Folks, I’ve said it before; I’ll say it again. IPSC as a sport rides on the back of it’s volunteers. We put on Nationals-level stages every month in all the clubs in the Georgia Section, but if we don’t have volunteers for setup, then we don’t have a match. It’s that simple.
So if you want a match at South River next month (it’ll be the same stages!), we need more help with setup. A LOT more help! Remember, if you come help, you get $10 off your entry fee the next day, free lunch, and entries in the the annual workerbee raffles for a glock pistol and for a South River Gun Club membership. No other club in the Georgia Section does anything like that, so come on out; it’s a great match.
