No River Bend USPSA match this weekend

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Gents,

Jimmy, Jeffrey and I had a conflict for this weekend and another member of the team was going to host this weekend’s match. Unfortunately Murphy got wind of it and our Host is going to have to work this weekend so there will be no match at River Bend. Sorry about this but as ALL of you SHOULD know this is a volunteer sport and as dedicated and well meaning as all of our volunteers are there are times when life get’s in the way!

Sorry for the inconvenience and we will see you in August.

Happy Saint Patty’s Day!

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Happy St. Patty’s Day!!!!

Remember the River Bend match this Sunday. First shot at 10AM, new shooters to USPSA need to arrive by 9:30 for the safety briefing. If you have time Saturday about 1PM please meet us at the range for setup. Jimmy and Jason will have 5 great stages for us and I will pick a classifier rarely seen in these parts.

Also, the April Match will be cancelled; we do not want to conflict with what is sure to be an awesome Area 6 Match the same weekend. For those who have not signed up for Area 6 yet there are lots of Friday All-day slots available. It is not too late to sign up!

Thanks!!!

Riverbend Gun Club USPSA match this SUNDAY, Jan 17th

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

This weekend is the 3rd Sunday and will be our River Bend USPSA match. Due to the ice and snow we have not been able to move the props to the new range so we will have it on the Cowboy range (where it has been for the last 3 years).

I know that Jimmy Nortz and Jason Koon have stages already designed so it should be a great, and challenging, match. For those who want to help with set-up on Saturday please reply to me and I will forward your name to Jimmy or Jason.

Registration starts about 9AM and the first shot is at 10AM Sunday so please come out and enjoy what should be some much warmer weather and a great first match of 2010!!!

Thanks!
Mark

P.S. I want to make sure that everyone gets the word that the match is not on the 4th Saturday anymore so please help me by telling all your shooting buddies.

No River Bend Match on March 28th

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Due to anticipated bad weather, there will be no USPSA match at River Bend Gun Club on March 28th.

“Sorry for the late notice but there will be no Match at River Bend tomorrow, March 28th. It rained all day today and the forecast for Saturday does not look any better with thunderstorms all day.

“I will not be here for the April Match but Scott, Kevin, Jeffrey, and Peter will be hosting it in my absence.

Welcome to the 2008 Georgia State
USPSA Championships

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Welcome to the 2008 Georgia State USPSA/IPSC Championship hosted by the River Bend Gun Club. We are excited to be hosting our first major match in only our second year as a USPSA club. This weekend we have a broad range of challenges incorporating the USPSA DVC philosophy and look forward to seeing the depth of competition that Georgia is known for tackle this year’s Match. If this is your first visit to River Bend Gun Club, this year’s match is taking place on the SASS (Cowboy) range but we are soon to break ground on the new Action Shooting Complex that will move USPSA, Action Pistol, 3-Gun, IDPA, and Steel Challenge matches to their own range designed with them in mind. I hope to see you back next year to see the new facility and enjoy our Georgia hospitality again.

I also want to extend a HUGE thank you to our sponsors this year. We have a record number of sponsors for the GA State match this year and it is their generosity that helps make this match happen. So please, next time you are considering a purchase, visit the sponsor links at http://gastatechampionships.com and support them by spending your shooting dollars with them. This match would not be possible without the generous contributions of the staff of RO’s, CRO’s, statisticians and support people who donate countless hours of their time and effort to be part of your Georgia Championship. Please take a couple of seconds and say ‘Thanks’ to these many volunteers when you see them around the range. They have all given very unselfishly of themselves to bring you this match and to support the sport of practical shooting.

As you participate in the match please remember we are here to have a good time, enjoy some fellowship with friends old and new, and participate in a sport that people in other areas of the World cannot because of governmental restrictions and regulations. In November, each of you has an opportunity, no a responsibility, to cast a vote for President of the United States. Please cast your vote and make your voice heard.

We wish you the best of luck and hope that you enjoy the match.

Match Director

River Bend on for Saturday, Dec 22nd

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

Please remember that we will have a match this Saturday, December 22nd, at River Bend. According to the forecast it should be a balmy 60 degrees, perfect for a match. Match begins at 10, new shooter briefing at 9:30.” Proceeds from this match, less USPSA fees, will go to benefit Mathew Nagel and his family. Also, Glock has graciously donated a certificate for a pistol and tickets will be available at the match. This raffle will be available at upcoming local matches and the winning ticket will be drawn at the Cherokee match in January.

River Bend Gun Club is located off GA Hwy 20 between Cumming and Canton. For more information, including a map to the range, please visit http://rbgc.org/clubinfo.htm

debi07-wince.jpgOur good friend Debi Davis, who many of you know as John Golson’s lovely and cheerful wife, passed away suddenly last Tuesday afternoon. As John was on a business trip her departure was not discovered until late Wednesday /early Thursday.

John is with friends and family, and is doing as well as can be expected. To all who have already extended their offers of love and support, he wants you to know he is eternally grateful.
