Hi folks.
Okay, we know now what’s going on with the ballots for the USPSA elections. (If you don’t, read here.) The CPA firm’s mailing sub-contractor sent the ballots out bulk mail instead of first class, and this was an error on their part. It is being fixed. Everyone who was originally sent a “bulk-rate ballot” will get a “first-class ballot”, which means if you have moved and have proper change-of-address on file with the post office, you’ll get yours eventually. But the last date to return ballots has also been moved out to October 1st, so the election is unfortunately going to go on for a while longer.
To those of you who have voted; thank you. You have exercised a privilege that is denied as a matter of course to the members of many other shooting organizations. USPSA is one of those rare entities that actually cares what its membership thinks, and demonstrates this by having the membership select its leadership. When you get your USPSA ballot again, you can either send it in again (in which case THAT one will be the one that gets counted — this isn’t Richard Daley’s Chicago, you don’t get multiple votes) or not, in which case your original ballot that you already mailed will be the one to be tallied.
For those of you who have not voted, please do so. This election represents an opportunity to shift the top leadership of USPSA in a new direction towards dedicated service to the members, rather than the current state of distraction that exists as a result of being pulled multiple ways. As I’ve stated before, I will be voting for Charles Bond for Area 6 Director, and Gary Stevens for USPSA President.
Thanks.
