NAAS Elects Slate of Officers
Peter Oliver Writes:
“…We decided as a group that we wanted 3 positions/volunteers to keep the running of North Atlanta Action Shooters going. Three being a number large enough to spread the load, hopefully without too many inputs to confuse. These now consist of President, Vice President and Treasurer. All three positions cover each other in absence.
“Treasurer: deals with finances (Duh!) and will be there with sign up sheets and score sheets each week, and will carry on collecting the $14 match fee (members) and $16 match fee (non-members). We are in OK position financially, and I will roll out the clubs fiscal standing to a members only list that we are compiling. Jeffery Abraham had shown interest, and was nominated by proxy, and voting was unanimous for him to take this spot. We need to confirm that he is good with this, but as of tonight thanks Jeffery. Dave will roll over the finances to you next Tuesday if you can make it. Kevin Allen has fees from tonight’s match.
“Vice President: This position has been filled by Kevin Allen, thank you, and already he stepped in to fill the treasurers roll this evening, which is just an example of what the 3 positions will be doing. Kevin will take up the President’s duties in the absence of the President, which also includes Match Director responsibilities on Tuesday’s.
“President: in absence of any other hands going up at the time of asking, your truly (Peter Oliver) was daft enough to raise his arm. I will endeavor to progress NAAS in the spirit it was formed, and try to keep everyone happy and amused. There was also commitment to make our weekly ‘Fun Shoot’ stay as close to USPSA rules as we can (within range confinements and local rules, i.e. not shooting the walls etc.) as this is what we all joined USPSA for after all, and that ‘Classifier night (1st Tuesday) will adhere strictly to the USPSA rules.
“I will be delegating heavily, and I will be asking regulars to step up and do the “new shooters briefing” and to assist with other tasks that are required to keep a bunch of shooters and range owners all a happy bunch of campers!
“I am open to suggestions for stages, special nights, IPSC rules shoots, and what ever else you can think of. Please let me know if you have any ideas or strong opinions.”
