The Georgia Section Executive Committee met yesterday, December 10th, at Cherokee Gun Club’s monthy match to elect a Section Coordinator and Secretary/Treasurer for the upcoming year 2007.
Bill Noyes was elected Section Coordinator for 2007, and succeeds Robert Elmore, who was Section Coordinator in 2005 and 2006.. Bill was the only candidate and the vote was unanimous. Bill has been President of South Atlanta Practical Shooting Club since 1998 and Georgia Section Secretary/Treasurer since 2000. A computer person by profession, Bill is webmaster for georgiaIPSC.com, uspsa-area6.org, uspsa-juniors.org, and assistant webmaster to Rob Boudrie for the national uspsa.org website. He has also scored dozens of major USPSA matches, including state championships, area championships, and 4 USPSA national championships. Bill has also served as recording secretary in meetings of the USPSA Board of Directors.
Cindy Noyes was elected secretary/treasurer for the Georgia Section in 2007. Only the second person ever to serve in this capacity, Cindy is the President of South River Gun Club IPSC (Georgia’s longest running IPSC club) and match director for the 1992, 2005, and 2006 Area 6 Championships, and has also been named match director again for the upcoming 2007 Area 6 Championship. She and Bill organized and have run South Atlanta Practical Shooting Club (the Georgia Section’s third longest running club) since 1990. Cindy is also a past Section Coordinator, serving in that capacity from 1992 to 1995. Cindy works for Glock, Inc., and uses her professional project management skills and experience to help run and score GSSF matches nationwide. Cindy also maintains the gssfonline.com national website.
Carlos Rubio and Roger Kooi announced that the 2007 Georgia State Championship would be held for the 4th year running at Cherokee Gun Club, on June 15th-16th, 2007. The match will follow the same proven half-day format that has worked so well for them the past three years.
The Georgia Section Executive Committee wishes to express its gratitude to out-going Section Coordinator Bob Elmore for his years of service to the Georgia Section and to practical shooting.
The Executive Committee asks USPSA Area 6 Director Charles Bond to confirm the Georgia Section Coordinator Election and pass it on to Sedro Woolley to be duly recorded.
Respecfully Submitted,
Bill Noyes,
Secretary/Treasurer (2006),
Georgia Section GA-05
