As a reminder, there will be no USPSA match at South River Gun Club on May 5th. The Georgia State Trap match will be that weekend and takes over the entire club.

Just as Georgia offers everything from the seashore to the mountains, Practical Shooting in Georgia runs the gamut from small 3 or 4 stage indoor matches on weekday evenings to full, national match quality, day-long, 8 stage outdoor events. Every month, just about every week of the year, one of Georgia’s USPSA affiliated clubs is hosting a match to challenge the expert shooter and introduce the novice to the most fun sport around: USPSA Practical Shooting.

South River Feb 2013 USPSA Match

January 30th, 2013

Please join us on February 3rd for our monthly USPSA match. Registration/checkin begins at 8:30am, shooters’ meeting at 10am. Bring at least 200 rounds for the USPSA match.

Please select your division and put in your particulars. PLEASE also select a squad, and register ahead of time. Then show up at 8:30am Sunday to check in and pay your entry fee. Shooting starts at 10 a.m.


We need your help with setup on Saturday, February 2nd at 9:30am. The first 10 helpers that are at the range by 8:30am when setup begins and stay until setup is complete will SHOOT THE MATCH FOR FREE the next day. If you can’t make it by 9:30am or can’t stay until setup is complete, we will give you a coupon worth $10 toward the match the next day. The more people that help, the earlier we can all be finished. We will also buy your lunch. You will be entered in our yearly drawing for a GLOCK Pistol Certificate! We will be finalizing set up on Sunday morning at 8:30 am. It is also very important that all members of each squad stay to help tear down the stage they finish on and for help with any of the stages that have no squad finishing on them. Welcome to the 22012 Georgia State USPSA Championships

Welcome to the 2012 Georgia State USPSA Championships hosted by Cherokee Gun Club. We are excited to have the GA State match back at Cherokee again. We bring you nine stages that should challenge all facets of your practical shooting experience and maybe offer a few you haven’t seen yet. We are hoping to live up to past performances here at Cherokee, and hope you find it to your liking!

South River August Special Classifier Match

August 1st, 2012

Please join us Sunday, Aug 5th for our South River August USPSA Special Classifier match. 4 classifiers (CM99-46 Close Quarter Standards, CM06-06 Golden Bullet Standards, CM99-02 Night Moves, CM99-13 Quickly II) plus 2 long courses. The Spec Class entry fee will be $22 for SRGC members and $25 for non-members, $30 for 2 family members, and $5 for each additional family member. $10 to re-enter to shoot all 4 classifiers in a different division, or an individual classifier reshoot will be the normal $3. Remember: Summer hours; Registration @ 8am, and shooting @ 9am.
